Joburg commuters left stranded

Thousands of Rea Vaya bus passengers were left stranded onmoncler women Monday morning as drivers embarked on an illegal and unprotected strike. Court action was underway as moncler clothingbus company Clidet, which runs the Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transport system and employs the 175 drivers, was in the process of engaging lawyers to get an urgent interdict to stop the action. Rea Vaya, which recently expanded its services, currently transports about Moncler Jackets29 000 passengers each day. Commuters arriving to catch buses on Monday morning were informed at the Rea Vaya bus stations that no tickets were being sold and they would need to find alternative transport. Jackie Huntley, interim CEO ofMoncler Jackets on sale Clidet, said the company had heard about the strike sometime at the weekend. She said bus drivers and representative union Samwu had entered into Moncler T-shirt on salediscussions with Clidet, asking that drivers on temporary contracts be given fulltime employment. "We had no problem with that, and entered intomoncler online an agreement that would see them being given fulltime contracts as from July 1," Huntley said, describing why the sudden strike had come as a complete surprise. They have had no meetings with the employees and said that a strike seemed to be unreasonable in light of the fact that the workers were to become fulltime from July 1." Huntley said she had met with the drivers at the Rea Vaya depot in Moncler T-shirtNancefield just outside Soweto at 4.45am on Monday. "We gave them their first notice informing them that the strike was illegal and unprotected, and that they had until 6am to resume work. Unfortunately 6am came and went so we issued a second notice giving them until 7.45am to get back to work, failing that we will approach the Labour Court," Huntley said. She said the drivers gathered at the depot in Moncler outletthe morning were not saying anything to Clidet, and had not made any kind of formal communication with the company.Meanwhile commuters were left stranded at stations across the city. Rea Vaya has issued an apology, andmoncler coat assured passengers that the service will be running again as soon as possible.
